Orange Crush

Bright orange was all over the runways for Spring 2011.  From maxi dresses to skirts to pant suits, it seems to be the hot hue for this year's warm months.  For most of us, head-to-toe neon orange doesn't seem like a reasonable response to the trend, but pops of this electric color, as in this fabulous by heal by Aperlai, would be just enough flash to get you through the year.  As for your weddings?  Go for it. I love the idea of crisp whites and soft vanilla cream contrasted with bright orange for a fresh summer wedding.  It would be a stunning palette for a breezy outdoor wedding!

Lanvin for H&M

calling all Portland ladies, if you haven't heard already, H&M is opening it's first store here in downtown this Thursday, November 11th at Pioneer Place!!!!  i cannot wait, as i have already lined up a girl's night out for this momentous occasion!  finally, a little trendy goodness for the Great Northwest.  and to make this even sweeter, the much anticipated Lanvin for H&M collection will be hitting the racks in select stores November 20th.  i'm loving all of the perfectly pink mini dresses, ruffled LBDs and flirty heels adorned with ribbons...i may have to get the sassy one-shouldered, pink dress below...

Showstopper

i love the contrast between the chunky wooden platform and gilded embellishments of sparkle and glitz on this Dolce & Gabbana heel...an hot accessory for any island destination bride--promised to be a showstopper no doubt!

Dani's Picks: J. Crew

i'm switching into fall gear right now ladies.  it's time.  it's been raining the last two days here, the wind is brisk and i've been filling up our schedule with college football games!  (ooh, i love my football!)  this means it's also time to get serious about fall fashion--loving J Crew's newest collection bringing in soft camel pieces, evening luxe to the daytime grind and of course the boy meets girl chic that has captivated us all.  my favorite piece?  the two in one, reversible Italian cashmere cocoon popover--this is the go-to item for anyone's wardrobe (seen above).  you can wear it anywhere!  boy's checkered button downs, utility jackets and soft pea coats, vintage inspired heels (adore the Tilly satin two-toned platformed heel!) paired with tights or delicate socks, sequined skirts, chic riding pants and a Crew staple, the perfect cashmere cardigan are all must haves for the season and easily mixed and matched for any occasion.

good morning! i'm totally in love with these gorgeous floral print dresses from Stella McCartney's resort 2011 collection. so fresh and colorful, sophisticated and perfectly mid-century inspired, her chic designs are to die for. i think i could make this top dress my uniform. isn't it just classic? though, i guess it wouldn't get me very far driving my suburban and carrying my two boys in and out of the grocery store--or maybe it's the perfect 1950's throw-back i need to glam up my life!

i'm in need of a dress for the coming wedding months and i have found some inspiration in Donna Karen's spring 2010 rtw collection. full of breezy wrapping and weightless draping, her dresses and skirt suits are nothing short of feminine chic. there is something about Donna Karen's designs that is so alluring--just beautiful! the one above, of course, my favorite!
